Car rental models

You can rent almost any kind of car in Moldova, from small, cheap cars to high-end ones. Here are some things you might want to think about:

A size of the car: A bigger car may be more comfortable on the highway, but many beautiful villages in Moldova have narrow streets. Parking garages are often small, and getting in and out of them can be a nightmare. Renault Twingo is the most well-liked model among economy classes in Moldova. From EUROPCAR the daily rate for this vehicle begins at 14$. For those who want some extra comfort and have the appropriate budget, EAST COAST is ready to offer a Business-class model - Audi A6, price starts at 59$ per day.
Most rental cars in Moldova are manual, but more and more automatic cars are becoming available. Automatic cars usually cost more to rent, and if your license only lets you drive an automatic car, you won't be able to rent a stick shift car.

Traveling by car lets you explore at your own pace. It's nice to be able to avoid congested bus or rail schedules and travel early or late.

There are several insurance tiers available. The various insurance categories in Moldova are described as follows:

  • Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) - It restricts the customer's liability throughout the rental period and establishes the maximum sum that the customer will be required to pay in the event of damages.
  • Theft Protection (TP) - If your automobile is stolen, this waiver reduces your liability to the vehicle's deductible/excess amount (proof required are a police report and the car keys). TP is typically included in the cost of renting a car.
  • Third Party Liability (TPL) - often referred to as Supplemental Liability Insurance, Extended Protection, Liability Protection, etc., covers both material and intangible losses caused to other people's vehicles, property, and even medical costs.

Unlimited third-party liability insurance is required in Moldova and is automatically bundled into the cost of all car rentals. Don't forget to carry evidence of insurance if you are traveling with your own vehicle.

When it comes to car rental costs, Moldova is generally competitive. The price normally depends on several factors, including the time of year, the length of your trip, and the sort of vehicle you wish to rent.
There is always an increase in demand for automobile rentals in Moldova during the summer months, which drives up the prices. During the off-season, particularly the winter, the prices are significantly lower. The duration of your rental also affects the total price. Typically, renting a vehicle for a longer period of time results in a lower daily rate, thus a five-day rental may cost only somewhat more than a three-day rental. If possible, consider spending at least a week exploring Moldova.
