Parking at Athens Airport
Located 33km southeast of Athens, Athens International Airport (Eleftherios Venizelos) serves the Athens region. Every year, thirteen million passengers travel through Athens Airport. To ensure that passengers have a hassle-free experience, Athens International Airport offers a variety of parking options. Depending on your needs, you can choose from long term, short term, or premium parking.
- Long term parking is offered in Parking Lot P3, located across the main access road from the terminal building. The long term parking area offers free shuttle service to and from the terminal. The shuttle bus stops at six designated bus stops.
- Short term parking is offered at Parking Lots P1 and P2. Parking in these lots is free for the first twenty minutes of your stay. However, if you stay for more than 20 minutes, you will have to pay a parking fee. Parking Lot P3 is a five to ten minute walk from the terminal.
The Athens airport parking facility has over 5,800 parking spaces. Its main access road is the Attiki Odos, a six-lane motorway. It also has a free shuttle bus service that provides transportation between the parking lot and the airport terminal.
In addition, Athens International Airport provides parking for wheelchairs and disabled passengers. A complimentary plug-in hybrid vehicle charging station is also available.
The Athens airport parking facilities also offer valet parking. If you have a large or bulky vehicle, you can park it in a valet lot. Valet parking is relatively cheap compared to other European airports.

Whether you are flying into Athens International Airport for a holiday or for business, you will find a range of car rental options to suit your needs. You can choose from premium or mid-size cars, SUVs, minivans and economy cars.
Athens airport is a hub for Greece and international travelers. As a result, there are numerous car rental companies located outside and inside the airport. There are also shuttle buses that take you to the rental car companies.
When booking your car, make sure you check your insurance coverage. Most car rental companies will offer insurance by default. You will also need a credit card to make reservations. During your stay, pay attention to traffic laws, road signage, and road conditions.
To rent a car at Athens airport, make sure you are at least 21 years old. If you are planning to travel in Greece for a short period of time, you may not need an international driving permit.
If you are traveling in a group, it is best to rent a minivan. Minivans do not have as much room for luggage as a regular car, so you may have to pay extra.
Before renting a car, be sure to check out the fuel policy of the company you are renting from. Some car rental companies charge higher fuel prices than gas stations. You should also double check the car's insurance coverage.
There are six car rental companies operating inside Athens International Airport. These companies include Avis, Budget, Hertz, Sixt, Avance, and Europcar.
